The power of a bequest
A bequest is a sum of money made available upon the donor’s death by provision in their will. Bequests are important to the Neil Sachse Foundation. It can be the difference from creating a project, purchase an important piece of equipment or completing an important project.
Giving is a dignified and valuable way to leave a lasting impression in any organisation.
There are different types of bequests:
- A residual bequest where you leave what’ left to a charity after making provisions for friends and family
- A percentage, whereby you allocate a percentage of your estate to the charity.
- A specified gift, where you clearly specify the specific amount or item bequeathed to the charity
- Your whole estate, whereby you bequeath all your assets to the charity.
By leaving a bequest in you Will, you will continue the search for a cure in spinal cord injury and it will not affect your current income or assets.
In order to leave a bequest, please contact your solicitor or advisor to ensure that you discuss the optimal way for you to make a donation of this kind. It is important to ensure that the organisation’s name is spelt correctly: our correct name is “NEIL SACHSE FOUNDATION INC”
It should be noted that the organisation has changed its name a number of times since its inception, and so, any bequests with the following names also refers to this organisation:
- Australasian Spinal Research Trust
- ASRT Inc
- Spinal Research Fund of Australia Inc
- Spinal Treatment Australia Inc
- Neil Sachse Foundation Inc
These wonderful and generous gifts will assist the Foundation to continue its dedication of funding research for new and effective treatments in spinal cord injury.
In-Memoriam and In Celebration
In-Memoriam
When someone close to us passes away, we experience grief, sadness and ultimately an appreciation of all the memories we have for the family member or friend. An in memoriam donation is a wonderful way to remember someone while at the same time giving hope for those living with spinal cord injury.
Many people are now choosing to donate to a charity in lieu of flowers for funeral services. The family are often the ones who select which charity will benefit.
This type of giving makes a huge impact on the Neil Sachse Foundation as it allows us to work towards undertaking important projects, which would normally be delayed due to waiting for the funds to accumulate.
The Neil Sachse Foundation has special envelopes available for these occasions.
For further details please phone (08) 8227 1777.
